The bright, warm, and comfortable ambiance of this newly expanded and renovated home can be felt throughout the home. The entryway has a vibrantly patterned tile floor and a beautiful walnut divider to the office space. Dark shaker doors are a feature throughout the house, as is built-in millwork. In the kitchen, a few features are, hidden pantry, a clean quartz backsplash wall with one floating shelf, and a custom range hood cover. Several natural elements in our design contribute to the farmhouse aesthetic on the ground floor: the butcher block island counter, the exposed brick wall, and the reclaimed barn board ceiling beams. The decorative lighting fixtures throughout the house are minimal vintage to sit comfortably amidst the varied materials. Vertical board and batten cladding on the addition give the appearance of simplicity, but the popped-up shed roof allows welcome clerestory light into the middle Bedroom and Bath. The client-specific features in this home are the custom-designed dining table for five, an integrated climbing wall and loft space in one of the kids’ rooms, a magnetic back painted glass wall, and a glass wine cellar space in the basement.
