St. Cecilia Church

St. Cecilia’s Church, a stunning 100-year-old Gothic Revival structure nestled in Toronto’s Junction neighborhood, served as the focus of our initial project scope. We were tasked with investigating and preparing a comprehensive building condition report, which became a model for Archdiocesan properties.  Subsequently, we began preliminary designs and feasibility for converting the basement into a fresh accessible Church Hall complete with elevator access, new washrooms, kitchen, lighting, air conditioning, and structural work.  However before any interior work was completed, exterior repairs were a priority including extensive masonry repairs and cleaning, a whole new slate roof to restore to its original design, and new entry stairs.  L+C was involved in coordinating a fund-raising effort which allowed donors to inscribe personal tribute messages onto the back sides of the slate tiles before they were installed, looking to endure for another 100 years.
