Renovations to the main floor, including a new open-concept layout, modern kitchen, and reconfigured dining area, breathed new life into this Runnymede home. Freeing the floor plan from partitions and radiators, it became apparent that the space would be better served by extending the existing awkwardly ‘L’ shaped addition across the whole rear of the house, adding 6’ of length. This extension allowed for better room proportions, the island to extend to 11’ and double bi-parting doors to flood the space with light. A dropped bulkhead, coat closet and servery are aligned with the stair creating a natural divider of functional space while maintaining spatial flow between the entry Foyer/Dining area at the front, with the large Kitchen/Family space at the rear.
