The Manning Residence project involved a two-story rear addition and comprehensive renovation to a narrow Little Italy home. The project evolved to accommodate the clients’ growing family, including twins born during the construction. Customized millwork defines flexible uses for areas within the open floor plan. The twin’s bathroom showcases fun black-and-white marker tiles with a bright red vanity light. In the master bedroom, vaulted ceilings were highlighted by stained wood ridge beam extending out to the private balcony, and built-in wardrobes. The ensuite bathroom includes a skylight and glass shower with richly textured tapestry tile. Relocating the main entrance to face south, with a covered porch, creates a discreet mudroom/vestibule integrated with the kitchen and dining area.
