The Manning project involved a two-story rear addition and full gut renovation to a narrow Little Italy home. The project evolved to accommodate the clients’ growing family, including twins born during construction. Relocating the main entrance to face south, with a covered portico, created a discreet mudroom/vestibule integrated with the kitchen and dining area. The slim profile of the home was extruded at the back and accentuated to create a covered balcony off the Primary Bedroom. Vaulted ceilings follow the roof line highlighted by a stained wood ridge beam extending out to the balcony. Playful colours and textures combine with clean lines and efficiency of space to make this project a success. Landscape design by Acre Studio beautifully complements the exterior.
