This century-old rectory, associated with the beloved Little Italy Franciscan Church was gut-renovated, upgrading the space to accommodate private living quarters for up to five priests and a Parish Operations Centre on the basement and ground floors. The building was made fully accessible by adding a new elevator shaft in the previously unused gap between the church and the rectory, serving two barrier-free suites. Other major improvements included asbestos abatement, structural repairs, new windows, a modern fire alarm system, and integrated historic detailing that resulted in a highly functional, comfortable, European-inspired environment. Additionally, we designed a new barrier-free washroom for the church nave and implemented additional life safety upgrades.
