After raising their family in the same home for over 30 years, the Clients were ready to evolve their home for a new era in their lives and create an urban oasis. A rear addition with one-and-a-half stories added high ceilings that opened up the kitchen and great room, blending a modern feel with the original 1920s traditional style. The primary bedroom became a personal retreat from adult children and grandchildren, featuring custom millwork and a private outdoor deck over the addition.
Running a catering business out of the home required reimagining the kitchen spaces. The ground floor kitchen is designed for large family gatherings and entertaining, while the lower level kitchen serves the client’s business operations. Collaborating with Mark Hartley Landscape Architects, we crafted an outdoor oasis for swimming, cooking, dining, and relaxation.
