After seeing one of our projects in the old town of Weston, the client (Christina Richardson Interiors) approached Lynch + Comisso to renovate her recently acquired bungalow in Toronto. The existing rooms in this house were small, so our solution was to open up the space and add a great room leading out to the large rear yard. The resulting Great Room (Entry, Kitchen, Living) is at grade, and its ceiling aligns with the ground floor of the existing home, now the bedroom wing. In the basement, you have service rooms (Laundry, Exercise, Sauna). So effectively, this project became a side-split. To upgrade the backyard into an oasis a new garage was constructed and a pool installed to seamlessly align with the Great Room.

The client is a Swedish Interior Designer and this project reflects a lot of her personality, from the ochre front door to the large circular window and the desire to use an Ikea kitchen in the project.
